Susie Smith’s
life as an ordained minister has taken her on many exciting journeys: from working on the staff of a large, progressive Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC to teaching religion and serving as a Chaplain at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC; from living as a volunteer working with homeless women on the streets of Washington, DC and participating in the year long Servant Leadership School of the Church of the Savior to establishing an educational program for low income adults in Greenville, SC; from directing a 24 hour CRISISline in Greenville to being the solo pastor of the North Anderson Community Church, Presbyterian in Anderson, SC and United Christian Church in Levittown, PA.  She is now on her greatest adventure as the organizing pastor for the first United Church of Christ in the upstate of South Carolina.  Peace Congregational Church, UCC is located in Clemson, SC.

Susie holds a BA in Religion from Furman University,  an M.Div. from Eskine Theological Seminary and is a graduate of the Servant Leadership School of the Church of the Savior in Washington, DC. She has trained with Don Riso and Russ Hudson in their Insight Approach to the Enneagram.

“Studying and teaching the Enneagram has been a major source of spiritual growth for me and has had an enormously transforming effect on the lives of many members of my last three congregations.  This tool has provided an invaluable resource for working with governing structures and leadership groups within these churches and for my pastoral counseling with individuals and couples.”   Susie B.
